Hi everyone, oh what a night it was. Over 50 of our members, family, and friends, enjoyed a lovely night of fine food, beverages of their choice and conversations with like-minded fantastic people. The night was catered by Golden Roast which gave our normal catering hard working girls and guys a night off which gave them a chance to enjoy the whole night.
Earlier in the day we kicked off with a mini comp which went off well considering the weather the day before and forecast for the Saturday. The comp was our last official organised fixture for the year and our pilots and judges had a trying but good work out. All flights were unknowns which gave our pilots some thought on how to approach the sequence. Congratulations to Jeff Hutchison and Michael Schiller, both competed in their Yak 52`s in Graduate and their first time in a comp. I look forward to seeing them fly at our State Comp in 2022. Thanks to Russell Sneyd for setting the comp up on the computer and to Jenny Woodhouse for scoring.
We changed the format a little this year, with the weather cooler than past years, and with Michael`s lovely Yak 52 as a backdrop, a group photo and presentation of the trophies by VP Mark Foy to our winners and runner up`s, indeed an exciting change to the indoor presentation.
Once again, a big thank you to Joanne Vonhoff’ for the lovely trophies.
Congratulations to all those who managed a podium finish, and to those who did not, May 2022 be kinder to you. As it is against the law to bribe judges, practice, practice, and more practice.
