AAC-QLD Airfield and Clubhouse Location

The Australian Aerobatic Club – Queensland Chapter’s flying activities, clubhouse and aerobatic box are centred on Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield, a recreational airfield situated in the picturesque Brisbane Valley, an easy 1.5 hours drive from Brisbane

Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield

Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield is located in South East Queensland, Australia approximately 5nm from the small country township of Toogoolawah, an easy 1 to 1½ hours drive from the state’s capital city, Brisbane.

Weather conditions are generally most amenable with a prevailing wind from the South East – usually at less than 15 knots. Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield features three well-formed grass runways suitable for almost all types of recreational aircraft.

Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield is outside controlled airspace being situated below the Brisbane International Airport’s Class C Lower Limit of 7,500′ and just to the north of Amberley Military Zone R625C  which makes for aerobatic friendly operations. Mandatory CTAF procedures apply with radio broadcasts on 127.3 MHz required for all operations at the airfield. Consult the YWSG ERSA page for more information.
