The Australian Aerobatic Club – Queensland Chapter’s flying activities, clubhouse and aerobatic box are centred on Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield, a recreational airfield situated in the picturesque Brisbane Valley, an easy 1.5 hours drive from Brisbane
Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield
Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield is located in South East Queensland, Australia approximately 5nm from the small country township of Toogoolawah, an easy 1 to 1½ hours drive from the state’s capital city, Brisbane.
The Watts Bridge area makes for extremely safe recreational flying with many open paddocks surrounding the airfield. Weather conditions are generally most amenable with a prevailing wind from the South East – usually at less than 15 knots. Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield features three well-formed grass runways suitable for almost all types of recreational aircraft.
Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield is outside controlled airspace being situated below the Brisbane International Airport’s Class C Lower Limit of 7,500′ and just to the north of Amberley Military Zone R625C which makes for aerobatic friendly operations. Mandatory CTAF procedures apply with radio broadcasts on 127.3 MHz required for all operations at the airfield. Consult the YWSG ERSA page for more information.

Clubhouse Location at Watts Bridge
The AAC-QLD Clubhouse is located in the Homebase Groups Precinct which is at the centre of the airfield. If you are arriving by road, see the Road Map and Clubhouse Location diagram below.
The Aerobatic Box is located to the South East of the airfield boundary.

Arriving at Watts Bridge by Road and Air
Pilots flying to Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield need to be aware of the operational requirements at the airfield.
Parallel Runways 12/30 require modified overfly and circuit procedures to maintain safe separation.

Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield is strongly committed to a “Fly Neighbourly” policy to ensure good working relationships with other land owners in the district.
Pilots are requested to avoid noise and over-fly sensitive locations adjacent to the airfield, as shown on the Fly Neighbourly Chart.
Road Map to Watts
Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield is located 8km from the small country township of Toogoolawah, an easy 1 to 1½ hours drive from the state’s capital city, Brisbane.
The Road Map to Watts gives directions from Fernvale to the South or from Kilcoy to the North.
The AAC-QLD Clubhouse is located in the Homebase Groups Precinct at the centre of the airfield.
