Monthly Practice and Training Weekends

The monthly practice weekend is the key to the club’s success, by providing vital training and practice for pilots and judges of all skill levels, in a friendly and professional manner.

Mark Galletly – Aerobatic Pilot

The Queensland Chapter holds regular practice days on the fourth full weekend of the month. In addition to the monthly training, the AAC-QLD also holds mini-competitions and judging courses throughout the year.

The practice and training weekends are dedicated to improving our aerobatic skills as a pilot and as a judge. Peer review critiquing from the ground and inflight coaching are readily available and strongly encouraged.

To improve our prospects in the high-pressure environment of competition aerobatics, the AAC-QLD holds mini-competitions and judging courses throughout the year. The success of Queensland pilots at a national and even international level indicates the value of regular practice and training.

The practice and training weekends also provide a great opportunity for fantastic social gatherings, with overnight accommodation and catering available for members and their guests.

The club’s catering provides a light lunch on Saturday and Sunday, with a hearty cooked meal Saturday evening. A wide variety of refreshments are available from the clubhouse bar. Sunday breakfast is also available.

It is essential that the Catering and Overnight Accommodation Form is completed by the Wednesday prior to the practice weekend.

Finally: Don’t forget to check out our Calendar of Events page to discover all that the AAC-QLD and other groups at Watts Bridge are doing through out the year.
